Day 1
Belfast to Grange-Over-Sands
Following our pick-ups this morning, we will travel to Belfast to board the 11:30hrs Stena Line ferry to Cairnryan. From Cairnryan, we’ll travel south making a quick comfort stop at Castle Douglas, if required, then swiftly continuing our journey to Gretna for a comfort stop. We’ll then proceed down the motorway and cut across to Grange-Over-Sands. We’ll be staying at the 3-Star Cumbria Grand Hotel. It is a quiet location, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the Lake District and surrounding area. Our estimated time of arrival is 19.00hrs.
Day 2
Bowness on Windermere and Grasmere
Our excursion today will take us to one of the nicest towns in the Lake District, Bowness, which is built on the shores of Lake Windermere. Here we can enjoy a leisurely cruise on the beautiful calm waters of the largest natural lake in Cumbria. (Included in price). We will then move on to Grasmere in the heart of the Lake District and one of Cumbria’s most popular villages. It is best known for its beautiful scenery, and most famously Dove Cottage - the former home of poet William Wordsworth. Free time to explore at our own pace before we return to our hotel.
Day 3
Cartmel and Holker Hall
Our excursion today will take us out to the quiet Village of Cartmel. It is located on the southern edge of the Lake District, a hidden gem for fine dining and gorgeous scenery.
We will then move on for a visit to the elegant Holker Hall. Sitting on 25 acres of beautiful woodland, landscaped gardens and ancient parkland, Holker Hall is also home to a herd of Menil fallow deer - a glimpse of which showcases nature at its most graceful. (Admission included in tour price)
Day 4
Keswick and the Kirkstone Pass
Today, our excursion will take us to visit Keswick for market day. We will have free time to shop or browse at leisure. Time then to move on for a scenic drive of the Kirkstone Pass. This mountainous road has been described as one of the most challenging drives through the Lake District, but notable for its breathtaking views. Sit back in the comfort of our coach as we enjoy this scenic journey, before we return to our hotel.
Time to show appreciation for our driver for his painstaking and meticulous driving today. Big cheer!
