Edinburgh Christmas Markets

Day 1

Following our pick-ups this morning we will proceed to Belfast to check-in for the 07.30hrs Stena Line crossing to Cairnryan. We’ll then begin on our journey North towards the Cairngorms, making comfort stops and a lunchtime stop en-route. Sit back and relax as we travel through the magnificent scenery along the edge of Loch Lomond to Drymen for an approximate arrival time of 16:30hrs. A warm welcome awaits us at the Winnock Hotel where we will be based for our tour. Note: Ground floor rooms available – No Lift!

Day 2

Depart Hotel 10:00hrs
Following a hearty breakfast, we will travel to Scotland’s largest, and capital city, Edinburgh. It remains one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country attracting thousands of visitors each year. Its variety of shops, museums, restaurants and pubs as well as the annual Christmas Markets will all be brightly lit up to tempt us in. Free time to shop and explore at leisure.
We will depart Edinburgh and travel back towards our hotel with a short stop just off the A9 at what has become one of Scotland’s most popular landmarks - the Kelpies. These sculptures, which were unveiled in April 2014, are the largest equine sculptures in the world. Made of structural steel with a stainless steel cladding these vast monuments are an impressive sight standing at over 30- metres in height, and an intriguing sight when all lit up. We will stop for a quick photo opportunity. Time then to rest our weary feet before dinner.

Day 3

Depart Hotel 10:00hrs
Our excursion today will take us to the busy city of Glasgow. Upon arrival in Glasgow, we will drop off as close to Buchanan Street Bus Station as possible. Decorated for the festive season, the shop displays will be doing their best to tempt us in. Free time to shop and explore the city at leisure.

Day 4

Depart Hotel 09:00hrs
All too soon it is here, it’s time to say our ‘good-byes’. As we begin our journey homeward bound, we will journey back to Cairnryan. We will make comfort stops and have a lunchtime break en-route. Refreshed and ready to move on we will continue on to Cairnryan where we must check in for the 15:30hrs Stena Line ferry home to Belfast.
