Day 1:
Outward Journey to Morecambe
Following our pick-ups this morning, we travel to Belfast to board the 11:30hrs Stena Line ferry to Cairnryan. After disembarking, we continue south, pausing for a short comfort stop at Castle Douglas if required, before travelling onwards to Gretna. From here, we join the M6 motorway and continue our journey towards the Morecambe Bay area, where we will check-in at the 3-star Lothersdale Hotel for an overnight stay. Enjoy a relaxing evening and a delicious dinner in comfortable surroundings after our day’s travel.
Day 2:
To the Isle of Man
After breakfast, we make the short journey to Heysham Port to board the 14:15hrs ferry to Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man. Sit back and enjoy the relaxing sailing across the Irish Sea, taking in the views from the observation deck or enjoying the onboard facilities. We are due to arrive in Douglas at approximately 17:45hrs, where we rejoin our coach and transfer to the 4-star Mannin Hotel, our base for the next four nights. This evening, enjoy dinner and time to settle in and unwind after our journey.
Day 3:
Island Explorer Pass & Manx Electric Railway
This morning you will receive your 3-Day Explorer Pass, giving you unlimited travel on almost all island buses,
steam and electric railways, the horse trams, and the Snaefell Mountain Railway. Please keep your pass with you each day, as it will serve as your ticket for the various journeys included in the tour. (Included in tour price.) Today we take a memorable trip on the Manx Electric Railway, the world’s oldest operational electric interurban tramway. This historic route connects Douglas, Laxey, and Ramsey, offering spectacular coastal and countryside views along the way. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a truly nostalgic experience as the tram winds its way through some of the island’s most scenic landscapes.
Day 4:
Free Day in Douglas
Today is a free day to enjoy Douglas at your own pace. Take a leisurely stroll along the elegant promenade, browse the local shops, or relax in one of the many seafront cafés. You might choose to make use of your Explorer Pass for another tram or bus ride, visit the Manx Museum, or simply unwind and take in the beautiful coastal views. Your driver will be on hand to offer suggestions to help you make the most of your free day before returning to the hotel for dinner this evening.
Day 5:
Port Erin & the Steam Railway
Today we travel to Port Erin, a picturesque seaside town nestled on the island’s southern coast. Enjoy some free time to explore the harbour, relax on the sandy beach, or visit one of the local cafés. Later, our driver will advise you of the departure time for our journey back to Douglas on the Isle of Man Steam Railway. This nostalgic trip takes around an hour, offering a wonderfully scenic ride through rolling countryside and charming villages — the perfect way to sit back, relax, and enjoy the views. Alternatively you may wish to travel back on our own coach with our driver.
Day 6:
Homeward Bound
After breakfast, we depart our hotel and make our way to Douglas Harbour to board the 08:45hrs ferry to Heysham, arriving back on the mainland around 12:15hrs. We then continue our journey north, pausing for comfort stops as we make haste to Cairnryan. We will be checking in for the 19:30hrs Stena Line ferry back to Belfast. And finally it is time to say our fond farewells as we board for the last part of our journey together.
