Enjoy a delightful pre-Christmas tour of the spectacular Scottish Highlands. Here in the Upper reach of the Spey Valley lies the peaceful little village of Newtonmore. This centrally located village is easily reached from all directions and a wonderful location to begin our festive preparations. Join us for a carefree break where we will sample Scottish hospitality and can enjoy the glistening and frost tipped branches of the winter Highland scenery.

Day 1:

Following our pick-up this morning, we will check-in for the 07:30hrs Stena Line ferry to Cairnryan. We will travel along the Ayrshire coast by-passing Glasgow and Stirling before moving on to Pitlochry where we will have a lunch break. Refreshed, time to sit back and relax as we travel through the magnificent scenery of the Spey Valley to our Highland destination. Our expected time of arrival at the 3-star Highlander Hotel is approximately 17:00 hrs. Our hosts will greet us with a warm Scottish welcome, a lovely glass of Mulled Wine and Mince Pie to set the mood for our festive break.

Day 2:

Cairngorms National Park & Mountain Railway
Our excursion today will take us on a scenic journey to the heart of the Cairngorm National Park where we will visit the Cairngorm Mountain Railway. This railway takes us up a scenic journey to over 1,000 metres above sea level for breathtaking Highland views and where we can find the the UK's highest restaurant and bar. From here we will move on the the Speyside Heather Centre where we can browse the antiques, collectables, local crafts, home-made produce, or visit the restaurant on site to accommodate our natural desire for a cuppa. We then return to our hotel for a wonderful Christmas Dinner followed by live entertainment, and a visit from Santa.

Day3:

Inverness & Strathspey Railway
We will depart our hotel this morning and enjoy a scenic drive up to Inverness the largest city in the Highlands. This city has it all, from Old Town Charm to City Centre choice. The festive decorations are all on display to remind us it is time to shop for gifts galore. Free time to explore We then move on to Aviemore, which is surrounded by the lush Highland scenery. The towering snow capped mountains, sparkling lochs and dense forests with frost tipped branches surround this bustling town, which is a popular resort all year-round. Here we will meet the Strathspey Steam Train for an afternoon journey. (Included in tour price) This relaxed scenic journey takes in the village of Boat of Garten, a well-known spot for bird watchers and nature lovers. Sit back and relax as you enjoy the views on this return journey which lasts approximately 1 ¾ hours. Tonight we can look forward to a Hogmanay Dinner followed by live entertainment to pass the night away.

Day 4:

Day to Explore at Leisure
Free time to explore our host village of Newtonmore and have a relaxing day at leisure. Tonight, we gather for a farewell dinner. A relaxed evening to chat with friends, and share our thoughts before it is time to pack.

Day 5:

Homeward Bound After breakfast this morning, we must say our good-byes and begin our journey home. We will travel south towards the outskirts of Stirling making comfort stops as travel. Continuing our journey to the little Harbour town of Girvan for a final comfort stop, before proceeding on the last leg of the journey to Cairnryan. Time then, to check-in for the 19:30hrs Stena ferry back to Belfast, where our Highland adventure concludes with wonderful memories of the snow capped Cairngorms.
