Day 1
Following our pick-ups this morning we will travel south towards Dublin, making a short stop at the Applegreen Services (Euros recommended). We will continue our journey to Dublin Port where we must check in for the 08:15hrs Stena ferry to Holyhead, North Wales. Enjoy a relaxing ferry crossing with time to either rest, stretch our legs, have lunch, or browse the onboard shops. After disembarking in Holyhead, continue our journey through the beautiful Welsh countryside, passing mountains, coastal scenery, and charming towns as we travel south towards Cardigan. Arrive in the evening at 3-star The Cliff Hotel & Spa in Gwbert, a stunning coastal property overlooking Cardigan Bay. Check-in and settle into your room before enjoying a welcome dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. The evening is free to relax, perhaps with a stroll along the cliff path or a drink in the bar.
Day 2
After breakfast, we will set off for a full day exploring the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, known for its rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and picturesque villages. Visit the historic city of St. David’s, the smallest city in the UK and home to the beautiful St. David’s Cathedral. Enjoy lunch in the area before travelling along the coast, stopping for scenic views and photo opportunities of colourful harbour towns such as Fishguard, Aberaeron, or Llangrannog. The drive offers some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Wales, with rolling hills and sweeping sea vistas.
Day 3
Our excursion today takes us to Tenby, one of Wales’ most charming seaside resorts. Travel through scenic Pembrokeshire countryside before arriving in this colourful harbour town, famous for its pastel-painted houses, golden beaches, and medieval town walls. Spend the day exploring Tenby’s cobbled streets, lined with independent shops, cafés, and galleries. Visit the historic Tudor Merchant’s House, take a walk along the harbour, or relax on Castle Beach, overlooking Caldey Island. There is plenty of time for lunch at one of Tenby’s many restaurants or traditional pubs, followed by a leisurely afternoon stroll along the seafront or optional boat trip (weather permitting). Return to The Cliff Hotel in the evening for dinner, rounding off our day with sea views and a relaxing night in Cardigan Bay.
Day 4
After breakfast, we depart the hotel for a short scenic drive to New Quay, (S Wales) a picturesque harbour town famed for its resident bottlenose dolphins. Stroll along the seafront before boarding your 11:00hrs dolphin-watching boat trip, where you will enjoy a guided cruise along the coast with opportunities to spot marine wildlife and take photographs of Cardigan Bay from the water. After the boat trip, we return to shore and travel back towards Cardigan Town for free time to enjoy the area, visit Cardigan Castle, browse local craft shops, or relax with a coffee beside the River Teifi. Later in the afternoon, we return to our hotel for some leisure time. You may wish to enjoy the spa, take a walk along the coastal path, or simply unwind and admire the sea views. Dinner is served in the hotel’s restaurant, followed by a relaxed evening.
Day 5
After breakfast, we will check-out of our hotel and begin the journey north through Wales towards Holyhead. There will be breaks along the way for refreshments and comfort stops before boarding the Stena Line ferry for the crossing to Dublin. On arrival in Dublin, we continue the final leg of the journey back to Belfast, bringing our tour to a close with lasting memories of coastal Wales, scenic drives, and warm hospitality.
