Irish National Stud & Gardens

Day 1:

Following our pick-ups this morning we will move swiftly on towards Dublin via the motorway. We will have a short comfort stop at the Applegreen Services near Castlebellingham where restaurant and toilet facilities are easily available We will cross the county border into Laois where we will have a visit to the well-established Gash Gardens, near Castletown. (Admission included). Although it is still early in the season there is ample for the visitor to experience. Gash is brimming with interesting and unusual plants to inspire both the keen gardener and the novice. A tranquil place for a self-guided tour, with seats to rest or just to savour the moment. A visit to the plant nursery to conclude your day may tempt you to take home a small memento. We will then make the short journey to the beautiful 4-Star Keadeen Hotel. With its own manicured gardens this is somewhere we can relax and enjoy our break.

Day 2:

Our excursion today will take us to visit one of Ireland's true treasures - The Irish National Stud & Japanese Gardens, located in the beating heart of Ireland's thoroughbred county. The Japanese Gardens are renowned as the finest of their kind in Europe. They are now admired by thousands of visitors who visit the gardens each year. For visitors and locals alike, the Gardens Restaurant caters daily with a selection of freshly made snacks, sandwiches, salads, wraps plus seasonal hot dishes, not forgetting the desserts and sweet goodies to tempt our palate Time then to travel over to Newbridge. Not just a shop, there are so many things to do at the Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre. It is a window into Ireland’s living heritage, combining ancient crafts and modern styles, alongside international culture and a museum of ‘Style Icons’. Free time. Restaurant and toilet facilities are available here for your comfort.

Day 3:

Today we will begin our journey home. As we travel north, we will cross the border into County Down and all too soon it is time to say our good-byes as we begin our drop-offs.
