Day 1

Following our pick-up this morning, we will travel to Belfast to check-in for the 07:30hrs Stena Line ferry to Cairnryan. We will travel along the Ayrshire coast by-passing Glasgow and Stirling before moving on to Pitlochry where we will have a lunch break. Refreshed, time to sit back and relax as we travel through the magnificent scenery of the Spey Valley to our Highland destination. Our expected time of arrival at the 3-star Highlander Hotel is approximately 17:00 hrs. Let our hosts charm us with the warmth of a hearty Scottish welcome.

Day 2

Our excursion today will take us on a scenic journey to the heart of the Cairngorm National Park where we will visit the Cairngorm Mountain Railway. This railway takes us up a scenic journey to over 1,000 metres above sea level for breathtaking Highland views and where we can find the the UK's highest restaurant and bar. From here we will move on the the Speyside Heather Centre where we can browse the antiques, collectables, local crafts, home-made produce, or visit the restaurant on site to accommodate our natural desire for a cuppa. We then move on for some free time in Aviemore - a popular holiday resort which is surrounded by the lush Highland scenery in the north west corner of the majestic Cairngorms National Park. The towering mountains, sparkling lochs and dense forests surround this bustling town, making it a popular resort all year-round.

Day 3

We will depart our hotel this morning and enjoy a scenic drive to Inverness the largest city in the Highlands. This city in the Highlands has it all, from Old Town Charm to City Centre choice. The 'Old Town’ features the 19th-century Inverness Cathedral and an indoor Victorian Market. You can also visit the contemporary Inverness Museum and Art Gallery which traces local and Highland history. Free time to explore. We then travel down to Aviemore where we will join the Strathspey Steam Train. Here we will take a relaxing scenic journey where we can admire the scenic highlands from another perspective. This return journey lasts approximately 1¾ hrs, after which we return to our hotel.

Day 4

Free time to explore our host village of Newtonmore and have a relaxing day at our own pace.

Day 5

After breakfast this morning, we must say our good-byes and begin the journey home. We will travel south towards the outskirts of Stirling making comfort stops as we journey. We then move on allowing a further comfort break in Girvan before proceeding on the last leg of our journey to Cairnryan. Here we will check-in for the 19:30hrs Stena ferry back to Belfast, where your Highland adventure concludes with wonderful memories of the Cairngorms.
